The official Power Rangers reboot Instagram revealed that they have cast Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) as Rita Repulsa.
Previously, they’ve announced Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, R.J Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger and Becky Gomez as the Yellow Ranger. Now that they have a cast for Rita Repulsa, we wonder if they’ll be bringing on other classic Power Rangers villains like Goldar.
MMA fighter Jason David Frank (who was the original Green/White ranger in the first TV series) is set to appear in the film in some capacity as a cameo at the least.
Before this, there were two live-action films from 20th Century Fox, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (you might remember this one to be the one with Ivan Ooze in it) in 1995 and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie in 1997.
