The final epic showdown gets teased in the latest trailer of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II.

The rebellion led by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) against Capitol’s President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is reaching its climax as the heroine accepts that she is the very symbol that all are rallying around and she is willing to lead the last charge to end the corrupt system. Victory might be seem close to their grasp but it will not be cheap, and the war is far from over.

Directed by Francis Lawrence (Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part I) with the screenplay under same duo who wrote Part I (Peter Craig, Danny Strong), the movie list of cast besides Jennifer Lawrence is Elizabeth Banks (The LEGO Movie, Pitch Perfect), Josh Hutchinson (Mockingjay Part I), Willow Shields (Hunger Games, Catching Fire), Liam Hemsworth (The Expendables II, Independence Day II), and Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, Thin Red Line). As well as the late Philip Seymour Hoffman (Charlie Wilson’s War, Capote) and Julianne Moore ( President Alma Coin in Mockingjay Part I). New faces like Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) and Michelle Forbes (True Blood, The Killing) who star as the military leaders of the Panem resistance forces. Not forgetting Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) and Mahersala Ali (Mockingjay Part I) too.

The trailer is definitely more action packed and we get to see more sadistic traps prepped up by Capitol which include mutant creatures. Some fans are concerned that the Part 2 will be too much action and explosions, undermining the emotional depth of Katniss triumph and climax of the story. However both trailers have shown that character development and politics are still part of the narrative so maybe these fears are groundless.

The liberation begins at the cinema on 20 November 2015.
