Aquaman has the reputation as the most mocked superhero character in the comic universe. Despite him being the King of Atlantis and able to have telepathic communication with marine creatures, which is no small thing.
However, this might change with a new Tweet image by Zack Synder few days ago. Now the King of Atlantis look like something that commands awe and reverence. Actor Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan the Barbarian) looks spot on and glowers intensely, giving the vibes that he is not to be messed around with. Not surprising, considering this is the actor who gave Khal Drogo so much pathos and life in the hit cable series, Game of Thrones.

Aquaman is scheduled to make his first serious cinematic appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice soon before starring in his own movie that is coming out in 2018 as the seventh movie in DC universe movie line. In 12 August 2014, Warner Bros. hired two screen writers – Will Beal (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of the Empire, Act of Valor) to write two different scripts for treatment of Aquaman into movie. The film development is on dual tracks with these two scripts competing to see which one will gain most traction and to be pushed forward as the result. Jason Mamoa reportedly prefers Zack Synder to direct the upcoming Aquaman movie.
