Gakkō Gurashi!/がっこうぐらし! or School-Live! confirmed to join the spring anime lineup for 2015. The manga begin its serialization in Hounbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward in July 2012 and four tankubon volumes are out so far. Lerche (Assassination Classroom, Danganropa The Animation) will be animating this series which is originally written by Nitroplus Norimitsu Kaiho and illustrated by Sadoru Chiba. What is special about this one is the marriage of exceedingly moe/cute character designs with dark, macabre subjects of zombie infestation and PTSD. Fans might recall that this is a different approach from fan-service friendly High School of the Dead series.
The synopsis is the story about four schoolgirls who are trying to survive in a zombie outbreak that wiped out everyone else at their school. The main character, Yuki Takeya is in denial mode, trying to live her life as if nothing has happened around her at all.
Many fans are wondering if the anime can do justice to the cutesy designs and true enough, Lerche delivers with this visual key above. The adaptation team consists of director Masoumi Ando (White Album 2), Haruko Iizuka (Little Busters!, Tamayura) the character designer and series composition handled by the original author of the manga himself, Norimitsu Kaiho.
The confirmed casting are Inori Minase (Aldnoah Zero, Black Bullet), Ari Ozawa (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun, Hokago no Pleiades), M.A.O (Noragami, Mahou Sensou) and Rie Takahashi (Shirobako). The series is scheduled to air on 30 June 2015.
