TV anime adaptation of Ishio Yamagata’s fantasy light novel, Rokka no Yuusha/六花の勇者 is on and now we have visual key and trailer to have a look of what is it all about. So far, five volumes of the light novel line is published since October 2011 under Shueisha’s Super Dash Bunko.

Director of the series is Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, Maoyu) with series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata (Saki: The Nationals, Black Bullet) and chief animator/character design by Sayaka Koiso (RAIL WARS!). Prop designer gig fell to Yoshinori Iwanaga (Psycho-Pass, Log Horizon) then monsters are illustrated by Tatsuya Fukushima and finally music score is by veteran Michiru Oshima (Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, Fullmetal Alchemist). Studio Passione (Haitai Nanafa, RAIL WARS!) will be chief animator of the series.

The synopsis is the world is under threat by Majin (Evil God) which came from the bottom of the darkness. Because of its awakening, the god of destiny will take six individuals with special powers called “Yuusha” (heroes/braves) to combat the dark forces. Adlet Mayer who considers himself as the greatest in the world is chosen as one of the six heroes but much to his consternation and suspicion of other heroes, there seems to be seven Yuushas including him at the battlefield. Question is, who is the imposter?

It sounds intriguing enough, not your typical fantasy seinen ilk like most light novel stories. However, no announcement of when the series will be out though.
