Looks like the end is in sight for Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail manga, as it’s just been announced that the serialization will end in 10 chapters.
So that means, the last book will be the 63rd volume of the series. However, Mashima stated that he has plans to start a new work soon, and it will be brand new characters and a whole new story.
But don’t fret Fairy Tail fans, it isn’t the end of the franchise, as Mashima stated on Twitter recently:
“Even though the original manga is ending, I don’t think Fairy Tail is done just yet. I have a lot of plans, so please look forward to them.”
For those not familiar with the series, the story follows the world’s most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail on its adventures, with the manga starting in 2006 (wow, it’s been 11 years already?) and spawning a myriad of games, tv anime, OVAs, spinoff mangas and a film, Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess.
