Fallout 4 the walk
“Let’s go for a walk.”

Longtime fans of the Fallout series rejoiced when Bethesda announced the release date for Fallout 4 is only months away. Launching on 1o November this year, Bethesda has kept the games under wraps and forgone the usual lengthy pre-launch campaign that precedes most AAA projects.

When inquired by Gamesradar in an interview with Pete Hines, Bethesda’s vice president of PR and Marketing on the status of Fallout 4 following the announcement, Pete said the game was “pretty much done.” One of the reasons for announcing the game so close to release was that they felt that they could due to the large expectations and popularly of the Fallout series. But Pete does admit that doing things this way is “way more fun.”

Despite the close release date, Fallout 4 has actually been in development for the past four years as admitted by Game Director Todd Howard, keeping such a tight lid on things allowed them to “work really hard on something special.”

Bethesda’s approach to announcing the game was quite unique and was a gamble at best, but the payoff was one of their biggest and best reactions to their games yet.

With tons of new features, an extremely detailed crafting system, a massive open world and an emphasis to player freedom, gamers will be dropped into post-apocalyptic Boston where they will be able to interact with the world as they see fit.

Fallout 4 will be out for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
