Final Fantasy XV lands 30 September, no PC version just yet

Final Fantasy XV launches 30 September on PS4 and Xbox One, but no word if we will be getting it for PC

We finally have the official release date for Final Fantasy XV, announced at the Uncovered live event that just happened in Los Angeles.

While the date was sort of leaked a bit earlier, its nice to know that the date is truly confirmed. That and a new teaser for FFXV is also launching later today, called Platinum Demo, free to download on the PS4 and Xbox One.

However, those on the PC are still out of luck, as director Hajime Tabata isn’t currently working on a PC version of the game, despite there being a lot of fans who would love to see it on the platform.

“Unfortunately we weren’t able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for XV,” he said. “We had to focus on the console version and our goal was to maximize, optimize everything for the HD consoles. Once that’s done, then we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options. But right now we aren’t decided, we’re still considering a lot of things.”

Hopefully they’ll consider porting it to PC like they’ve been doing with the majority of their Final Fantasy titles as of late.

FFXV‘s story centers around Prince Noctis and his friends while they take the most epic road trip before he gets married to a princess of a neighboring country. The player will only get to control Noctis however, with the rest of the party being AI controlled.

Final Fantasy XV will be out for the PS4 and Xbox One come late September and players can grab a Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Collector’s Edition from Square Enix’s online store, with the pricing as follows!

PS4 Final Fantasy XV Standard Edition: RM 259

PS4 Final Fantasy XV Deluxe Edition: RM 399

PS4 Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collectors Edition: RM 1,399
