Nintendo is no stranger to releasing limited edition themed sets alongside game launches, and they’ve made available a Fire Emblem Fates themed New Nintendo 3DS XL.

The special Fire Emblem Fates Nintendo 3DS will sport special artwork inspired by the game but oddly doesn’t come with the game like previous special edition releases. The game will be sold separately as a pair of releases: Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, going for $39.99 (about RM 175) each.

Each version has their own version of the storyline and players can purchase the other version of the game as a separately download for $19.99. Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation can be purchased in the same manner when launched on 10 March.

Players can also purchase the whole package with all three games if they wish.

The special edition is set to release in the US on 19 February and will retail at $199.99 (about RM 876) before shipping and tax. Seems a bit like a cash grab for not including the main game with the set, but do you think they’ll eventually release a version that comes with all three games? let us know in the comments!
