We finally get our first glimpse of the upcoming Dr. Strange movie from Marvel in its latest teaser trailer. The film, which is due for a November 2016 release, looks to be a darker and weirder world than what we’re used to seeing in the crop of Marvel movies so far, and it’ll be great to see the more “magical” side of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the teaser, we’re treated to what seems to be the origin of the Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Elements of his comic origins can be seen; his life as a surgeon, the car accident that destroyed his surgery career and his initial steps to be eventually Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme.
We’re also treated to a first look at Strange’s mentor/teacher, the Ancient one played by Tilda Swinton as well as Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who we know will eventually become his nemesis Baron Mordo. There’s yet to be an appearance by his assistant Wong though we’re sure the next trailer that comes out might feature him.
As Marvel continues is movie march to Avengers: Infinity Wars, we’re pretty sure Dr. Strange will be playing a big part in it, considering the character is regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.
Doctor Strange is slated for a November 4 release.
