Marvel Cinematic Universe has released two still images via Entertainment Weekly for Netflix’s Daredevil series starring Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything) as the martial artist vigilante superhero cum lawyer Matt Murdock. The stills showing Murdock the Lawyer complete with his walking stick as he is blind and black coloured, menacing superhero Daredevil. This version of costume is based on John Romita Jr.’s “Year One” that the hero wore in the Marvel Comics “Man Without Fear” storyline.
Apparently the series will focus on the origin story of the Daredevil and the evolution of him into the costumed superhero. Marvel TV exec and comic legend Jeph Loeb said that the show will be crime drama first, superhero later. In addition, with the inclusion of Spartacus creator Stephen S.DeKnight in the production, fans are wondering how adult the series will be and this is his reply to the question:
“It’s a little grittier and edgier than Marvel has gone before, but we’re not looking to push it to extreme violence or gratuitous nudity.”
No set release date is known, but generally it is expected to hit the Netflix subscribers in the first half of 2015.
