Top Gun 2
Sorry to say, but I personally feel that this is one movie that could do without being made with a “modern touch”. Top Gun was originally released in 1986, and to be frank, planes and the general tech revolving around warfare have really changed a lot. It hasn’t aged well at all and frankly with the kind of behaviour that Maverick has, he can expect to be up to his eyeballs with sexual harassment charges.
We’re not sure how they’d translate it into a more modern setting, but we’re hoping that this movie isn’t banking purely on nostalgia value. At the very least, we hope they do some rendition of the original Top Gun theme though!
No date yet, but Tom Cruise himself has confirmed that he will be making a comeback for the film to reprise his role as Maverick.
