FuRyu‘s upcoming 3DS game Shokugeki no Sōma: Yūjō to Kizuna no Hitosara(Shokugeki no Sōma: The Dish of Friendship and Bonds) has just had a promo video released, featuring the anime’s opening theme “Kibō no Uta” (Song of Hope) by Ultra Tower.
The promo video was released on Sunday, showcasing some tantalizing bits and pieces of the game; which will have an original story separate from the anime. Here, the students of Totsuki Culinary Academy will be heading to a lone island in Europe for a cooking battle tournament.
Shokugeki no Sōma: The Dish of Friendship and Bonds is described by FurRyu as a “taste personal experience cooking battle adventure game” and will feature Sōma Yukihira and other characters from the anime to do battle with. The cast from the anime will also be reprising their roles here.
From the promo video, it looks a bit like a cross between Cooking Mama and a visual novel.
For those not familiar with the story, this follows Sōma on his journey to survive an elite culinary school education with an extremely low graduation rate. Hilarity and thinly veiled fanservice ensues.
Shokugeki no Sōma: The Dish of Friendship and Bonds will ship this 17 December and will retail for 5,980 yen (about RM 212) on the Nintendo 3DS.
