Famous Japanese American singer/songwriter Hikaru Utada who sang few songs for Rebuild of Evangelion movies is the focus of a lot speculation lately. First, she announced via her blog that she gave birth to a baby boy and she was working on an album for the first time since 2008.

What is notable about the later part is it could be the major hint at the next Evangelion movie.

The Japanese weekly Shukan Bunshun spoke to an “insider” about everything on the singer/songwriter for its 16th July issue which includes a snippet that everything will hopefully progress smoothly, so the albums can be released this year or early 2016. This also likely to capitalize on the good feel news surrounding the birth of her son.

The same source quoted, “ Right now, Utada is in the middle of working on a new song for the final Evangelion that’s scheduled for release in winter of this year.”

The last movie is Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo/ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:Q
Evangerion Shin Gekijōban: Kyū which released back in 17 November 2012. The movie earned US$59 million in boxoffice worldwide. If factoring the rumours above, that means the fourth movie should be out by end of this year or early next year.

We can only hope this is true but given the total lack of promo or trailers, it is a bit hard not to dismiss this. Time will tell.
