Garth Ennis will be taking his talents to adapt Wargaming’s online game, World of Tanks into a five-issue comic series with World of Tanks: Roll Out.It will be published by Dark Horse and is set to hit the stands this fall.
While Garth Ennis is best known for his cult comic, Preacher, that is currently receiving a television treatment for AMC; the comic book veteran has also produced some great war comics as well. 303 in particular centres on the iconic .303 calibre Lee-Enfield rifle.
World of Tanks: Roll Out will see Ennis teaming up with longtime collaborator Carlos Ezquerra. The two have previously worked on a number of titles including, Preacher, Hitman and the World War II series Battlefields.
Dark Horse revealed that the comic would see the British armoured units facing off against the Germans, in a post D-Day Normandy in the summer of 1944. Pitting German Panzers versus British Cromwell, as the British travel further into France to meet the might of the German.
First released in 2010, World of Tank has since garnered more than 90 million players according to developer Wargaming. The free-to-play game has since expanded across different platforms. Currently, it is available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
