Gipsy danger is back for Pacific Rim: Uprising in this new black-and-white image posted by the main star of the show, John Boyega.

Originally piloted by brothers Raleigh and Yancy Becket and then followed by Mako Mori (following Yancy’s death) in Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 original, the Jaeger was seemingly destroyed at the end of the film. With this image, Gipsy Danger is the first Jaeger to be confirmed for the sequel. We’re also expecting some new Jaegers (at least we’re hoping for some) so hopefully, we’ll get more reveals in the months to come.

Originally called Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, the movie is set in a future where giant monsters (labeled kaiju) emerge from the Pacific Ocean to wreak havoc on humanity. The Jaegers were created to combat said creatures, where the pilots are connected via a neural bridge. The sequel has Boyega cast as the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), Jake Pentecost, years after the events of the original movie.

The movie’s cast includes Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Zhang Jin, Chen Zitong, Lan Yingying and Qian Yong Chen, with direction by Steven S. DeKnight.

Pacific Rim: Uprising 23 Feb 2018.
