Surprisingly, Riverdale turned out to be one of my favourite TV series of 2017, thus far. What was initially thought to be a sappy teen angst show, turned out to be exactly that? Except it’s also so much fun!

If you’re not familiar with Riverdale, it’s pretty much the Archie comics brought to life, only with extra spices added such as MILF sex, murder and incest. Did I mention MILF sex? Cause #MILFSEX.

The casting has been on point so far with the likes of K.J. Apa playing Archie, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica and Cole Sprouse — Suite Life of Zack and Cody — as Jughead Jones. According to Entertainment Weekly, CW has now cast Graham Phillips — The Good Wife — as Archie comics character Nick St. Clair. In the comics, Nick St. Clair dates Veronica for a brief period.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, this is what producer and writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had to say:

Nick is an old classmate of Veronica’s from New York, and despite his parent-pleasing veneer, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing: a hard-partying Lothario with dark desires and an unchecked sense of privilege. His arrival in Riverdale will threaten Archie’s relationship with Veronica, and may even put some of our characters at risk.

Note: While Riverdale is a CW show, it is aired on Netflix internationally — including Malaysia — on the same day as the US.

Riverdale season 2 will hit the small screens on 11 October 2017.
