The core concept behind the new Gran Turismo is Sport Mode: which allows players to compete online representing either their home country or their favorite car manufacturer in two online championship series.
These series, which are certified by the governing body of motorsport, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, will allow players who aren’t competing to watch live race broadcasts in order to cheer on their country, racer, or manufacturer of choice.
Racers will compete to win the championship of their choice and a chance to stand on the podium at the annual FIA prizegiving ceremony.
The game also promises incredibly high fidelity in its car models, and a series of tutorials to ease new players into the brand new physics engine.
The Gran Turismo series debuted in 1997 on the Playstation and has sold nearly 80 million copies. Sport is the 16th game in the franchise.
