Hanna-Barbera cartoons are all the stuff we grew up on, and they have a massive catalogue of characters and cartoons that we all would remember at least one of. A new line of comics are coming out thanks to DC, and they will feature some of the most iconic characters in cartoon history.
The news came from co-publishers from DC, Dan DiDio and Jim Lee when interviewed by Entertainment Weekly about the new comics they were producing.
The upcoming titles will include the Flintstones, Future Quest, Wacky Raceland and Scooby Apocalypse (which we admit is the one we are looking forward to the most)
DiDio summarises what we can expect from each of the comics:
“You’re gonna have an epic adventure in the future stories with Johnny [sic] Quest and Space Ghost. You’re going to have a scary, dangerous world in Wacky Raceland that is just as strange and dynamic as you hope it would be. I think Scooby Doo is going to excite people and challenge people, and I think that we’re going to use Flintstones to really bring out that voice and social commentary that they might’ve brought out in the ’60s and raise it back for today.”
“We’re hopefully building a whole new generation to have that same level of love that we have for them.”
So far we’re pretty floored with just these images alone, and we’d like to know what you think about these DC re-imaginings of classic cartoons in the comments.
