Looks like Harrison Ford is all on picking up his old roles. Aside from reprising his role as Han Solo for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he’s apparently game for another Indiana Jones movie.
Not too long back Ford mentioned that he was on board for another Indy film, and now it looks like its official that both he and Steven Spielberg are on the as of yet untitled film.
“I would love to do another Indiana Jones and work with Steven [Spielberg] again,” Ford said this morning on Good Morning America, concluding, “If we get a script, I’d love to it.”
He jokingly adds “I’d love to see me do it before I turn 80.”
The last time Ford picked up his whip for the role was back in 2008 for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Director Steven Spielberg previously stated that he can’t wait to work with Ford again for another Indiana Jones sequel, but officially we don’t have any concrete dates on when Disney will start pushing the movie.
There were also rumours that Indy would be portrayed by a younger actor like Chris Pratt but producer Frank Marshall said they aren’t going to recast the role. We guess nobody really can really fill Ford’s shoes when it comes to that.
However, George Lucas isn’t returning to the production, despite playing a major part in the success of the previous films.
The currently untitled 5th Indiana Jones film is slated to hit the cinemas 19 July 2019.
