Malaysian fans of Hatsune Miku, it’s time to rejoice. The virtual vocaloid singer will be coming to Malaysia this year. Yes, you read that right, she’s coming to Malaysia and this would be the second time the virtual idol would have stepped foot in South East Asia.
The announcement was made via the main Miku Expo page and the date that we’ll be seeing her here in Malaysia will be 16 December!
Not many details have been released aside from the date but if any of the other Miku Expos that have been held in other countries in the past are an indicator, we can at least expect a live performance from the Vocaloid idol on top of an exhibition about her.
As we mentioned before Hatsune Miku has been to South East Asia before but that was way back in 2014 in Indonesia. Now Malaysia has the honour of bringing in the virtual idol and her Miku Expo to the region, beating out other countries like Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.
One interesting thing to note is that the Miku Expo’s date seems to coincide with this year’s Comic Fiesta. It is possible that there might be some tie-in but it doesn’t seem like it at the moment. We’re pretty sure Malaysian Hatsune Miku fans and many others in the region will be psyched to finally see her live.
