On the promo page for Heavy Object: 195 Degrees Below Zero Rescue light novel which is set to be published on 10 April 2015, Dengeki Bunko had slotted in an announcement that TV anime series adaptation of Heavy Object/ヘヴィーオブジェクト will start airing this fall at Japan.
During a celebration of A Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun author Kazuma Kamachi’s now decade-long career last year, Dengeki Bunko announced the adaptation news of his sci-fi war light novel series, Heavy Object. Confirmed casting were Natsuki Hanae (Aldnoah Zero, Absolute Duo) as Quenser Barbotage, Kaito Ishikawa (Gangsta, Golden Time) as Heivia Winchell, Itou Shizuka (Tales of Hearts, Suikoden IV) as Major Floretia and Eri Suzuki (IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls) as Milinda Brantini.
However there is no news on production staff or the animation studio for this series yet.
The official synopsis is “Kwenser came to the Alaskan military base to study Objects, the new weapons that have completely revolutionized war as we know it—battles are fought by soldiers controlling Objects far away from harm; however, when he starts to get close to Object pilot Milinda, will he discover the grim truth behind Heavy Objects?”
The story is a very generic seinen flavoured mecha action with a more realistic, gritty approach to fighting using giant robots.
