Season 7 for Game of Thrones is but a few months away and HBO has finally released the first teaser for the upcoming season.
It isn’t a terribly long teaser and we don’t actually get to see any of the characters appear in it (aww) but what it is, is a bunch of quotes from various factions. We have some from Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister and Lady Olynna but the most important one comes right at the end; from the new King of the North, Jon Snow.
He seems to be warning someone that there’s a great war coming, and that the war has arrived.
Speculation is that he’s talking about the White Walkers, a looming threat that is a very, very big deal. The last few seasons, we’ve seen small wars being fought, for King’s Landing, for the North and the ones faced by Daenerys during her travels. But this would be the first time Snow has referred to “The Great War”, and Snow is also the only main character who has faced the White Walkers and the Night King’s army and lived to tell the tale.
It will be very interesting to see where this goes.
Game of Thrones Season 7 will be out 16 July.
