With Star Wars: The Force Awakens now out, we’re pretty sure many of you are thinking of getting a lightsaber of your own. You probably have at least one lightsaber tucked away somewhere in your home. But we’re pretty sure, with the new movie out, you’ll want more than your typical FX saber or maybe even your extendable plastic movie saber from Toys R Us to do battle with. So, we’re here to help you out!
To do that, we got in touch with Vincent Wong, head of FAST (the Force Arts Stunt Team) to give us some pointers in where to look and what to look for when picking out your very own custom lightsaber.
But who are FAST that they’ll be the authority on custom lightsabers? They’re a local performance group who kick’s ass the only way a Jedi knows how! With lightsabers of course. FAST does lightsaber duelling performance pieces for audience entertainment and the video below is just a sample of how fast fast paced and exciting their saber performance can be, especially to a hall full of geeks.
They’ve been known to come up with intricate lightsaber fight choreography to perform and can sometimes be hired to do performances if you’re looking to add some spice to your geek themed events.
