2. Mask (or hide) your rooted device
This step is optional but something we’d highly recommend unless you want to risk getting your account totally banned. There’s the possibility that if Niantics detects your rooted device, they might ban your account. We can’t verify it yet, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. So you’ll have to hide the fact that your device is rooted.
There’re a few ways to do it, but we went with using Hide My Root app which does exactly that. Just click on the Hide su binary option and you’re done.
