We reported recently that local Internet TV service iflix was offering anime, and now they’ve partnered up with Samsung to offer their app exclusively on Samsung mobile devices.
The exclusive partnership will have iflix bundled together with selected Samsung devices complete with subscriptions. This will start 6 August 2015, starting with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. All Samsung tablets sold from here on out will come with a 12 month iflix subscription out of the box; with all flagship devices to come with a six month subscription. Finally, all other new devices with video-streaming capabilities from Samsung will have a three month subscription bundled in.
“The Galaxy Tab S2 with Super AMOLED display ensures for a vivid viewing experience to consumers, as they are now able to enjoy unlimited online access to thousands of hours of TV shows and movies at home or on the go. We see this strategic partnership with iflix as a complimentary strength to create market leading products designed for consumers.” Having recently launched in Malaysia and the Philippines, iflix will roll out its world class service to additional key Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand and Indonesia throughout 2015, offering consumers the largest library of top U.S., Asian regional, and local TV shows and movies available online. Each subscription allows users to access the service on five Internet capable devices such as mobile, tablet, computer, or television set, for viewing whenever, wherever”; says Lee Jui Siang, Vice President, Mobile, IT & Digital Imaging at Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
