As random as it sounds, renowned British heavy metal band Iron Maiden is dipping its toes into the mobile game biz, releasing a game called Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast this summer.

Set to launch for both iOS and Android, players will be put in the shoes of the band’s mascot Eddie as he partakes in battles across space and time.

As such, the game will be “action-packed, free-to-play RPG steeped in Iron Maiden mythology,” according to the release; the mythology of which is rooted in over 30 years of the band’s music and album art.

Iron Maiden also promises that previously unreleased live recordings of their classics have been adapted to the game by engineer Tony Newton under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.

The game is being developed by Roadhouse Interactive, the guys who gave us Family Guy Online and Warhammer 40,000: Carnage.
