Looks like the Venom spin-off has snagged itself a brand new star, joining Tom Hardy.
The lady in question is Jenny Slate, who is being courted by Sony Pictures to pick up the role of a scientist in the film.
The Venom flick is directed by Ruben Fleischer, and it also shares the same universe as Silver and Black, another film by Sony about Silver Sable and Black Cat.
As for the other cast, Tom Hardy will be playing the film’s lead, putting on the shoes of Eddie Brock, alongside Riz Ahmed who will be playing Cletus Cassidy. Michelle Williams is in talks to join the show as it’s female lead and while there’s no real word on who she will be playing, there’s speculation she will play Anne Weying (or She-Venom, if you’re not familiar with the comics).
Venom is set to release on 5 October 2018.
