Warner Bros. and DC are till rolling out their expanded film universe, recently adding Nightwing to their crop of upcoming films. But they don’t look like they’re stopping anytime soon, as they’ve in the process of enlisting Joss Whedon to handle their new Batgirl flick.

He would also be writing and producing the Batgirl film as part of the deal, alongside Toby Emmerich, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns. However, that’s all we know about their crew so far, and there’s no real word of who would be taking the role of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

Whedon’s most recent project was Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

However, this pretty much means that Batgirl won’t be making an appearance in Justice League, but with Whedon at the wheel, we’re not too worried about the film bumming out. We’ll be keeping our ear to the ground for more details at they come!
