[Spoiler warning] If you haven’t watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 yet, you might want to give this piece of news a miss.
While most of the post-credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are there mainly for comedic purposes (teenage Groot playing video games), there is one specific name drop that had Marvel super nerds around the globe experience multiple orgasms.
ADAM!
Upon hearing the now famous line uttered by Ayesha, “We’ll call him Adam,” fans began debating whether Adam Warlock would appear in next year’s movie event of the year, Avengers: Infinity War.
To the uninitiated, Adam may seem like an uncool and obscure Marvel character, but for those who live and breathe comic books, Adam is bad-ass. Unfortunately, he will not be kicking ass alongside Captain America and gang in Avengers: Infinity War. In an interview with Slash Film, Kevin Feige shot down the idea.
“Adam is not in Infinity War. That is not a tag for Infinity War. In that case in particular, James has ideas. And had played with incarnations of Adam Warlock in earlier drafts of other Guardians films. So he’s always been top of mind for the Guardians franchise. And if he appears anywhere in the future, it’ll be with Guardians.” – Kevin Feige
In the comic books, Adam is Ayesha’s brother who plays an integral part in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline. Heck, he’s actually the guy who eventually takes down big purple (Thanos). So, if you’re a fan of that comic, you will be more than slightly disappointed with what Kevin Feige had to say.
But hey, going off the MCU’s track record so far, the Adam character is safe in the hands of Feige and co, and you can bet when he eventually does show up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is going to be LIT!
