The Star Wars: The Force Awakens hype train has been rolling strong, and they’ve released a new TV spot featuring brand new footage. This might be a bit spoilery so if you’re intent on keeping dark before the movie hits, consider yourself warned!
Like the ones before it, the new spot has some new footage. The teaser is a little under 30 seconds long but they managed to stick a little more extra goodies. While the new spot has quite a bit of footage we’ve already seen, it gives us a better look at Finn’s Lightsaber-fighting prowess as he does battle with a Stormtrooper wielding what looks like a Lightsaber proof stun baton.
Those who are familiar with the extended universe (before Disney hit reset) would know that there exist rare materials that are capable of deflecting Lightsabers; so its possible that the Empire got ahold of some.
Also, Finn used to be a stormie himself before he decided to skip the First Order so him battling the very same army he used to be a part of would spawn some pretty conflicting feelings.
On top of watching BB-8 get rolled around in the Millennium Falcon; we also have visual confirmation that female fighter pilots are finally canon in the series. They have been quite prominent in the extended universe (as were a lot of things) but this would be the first time the actual films would have a obvious female pilot.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in Malaysian theatres on 17 December 2015, and is the next installment of a thrilling saga that spans a galaxy a long time ago, far, far away.
