Announced earlier this year at MWC 2015 in Barcelona, the world’s first smartphone with Dolby Atmos enhanced audio is finally here.
The Lenovo A7000 as it’s named is aimed at movie buffs who want their entertainment on the go but want to experience it as they did at the cinema, with the added bonus of the phone being able to charge other devices as well.
Under the hood, the phablet has a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek processor alongside 2GB RAM and 8GB internal extandable storage with a microSD slot. It also gets a 5.5 inch IPS 720p display on top of a 8 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front snapper. The Lenovo A7000 will be home to a 2,900mAh removable battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 4G LTE up to 150Mbps (Cat.4) as well as dual-SIM capabilities.
Of course the main attraction for the Lenovo A7000 is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos, which marks the phone as the first of its kind. Very much geared towards those looking for an extra kick while they enjoy their movies on the go, Lenovo is also planning on releasing two tablets in the future to also have Dolby Atmos under the hood. The Dolby tech works hand in hand with an app to buff up the sound experience by simulating surround sound with your earphones, or increasing the volume and other audio nuances while you are on the speakers.
The smartphone will be available in Onyx Black or Pearl White for RM 699 but for a limited time Lazada will be selling the phone as an exclusive partner for RM 625 starting 20 May 2015. You can register here at Lazada to snap up the phone for yourself.
