Square Enix‘s Life Is Strange is apparently getting the live-action treatment, working with Legendary Digital Studios to produce the series.

There aren’t any other details on the series yet, except that it is also being produced with Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons of dj2 Entertainment. The first episode of Life is Strange became free to download awhile ago, so it’s a pretty good time to expand the IP given that it’s more accessible.

Life is Strange is one of those rare properties that combines incredibly developed characters and storylines with deeply engaging gameplay. It lends itself perfectly to live-action imaginings. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Square Enix, DONTDOD Entertainment and dj2 to bring the world of Arcadia Bay to life in an exciting new way.” stated Greg Siegel, vice president of development and production for Legendary Digital Studios.

It’s quite possible that the series will take us deeper into the story of the game, or it could very well be exploring things that the game couldn’t previously touch. Or even a brand new original story? we don’t know yet.

Life Is Strange is available on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and on the PC, with the first episode free across all platforms.
