No Man’s Sky isn’t really living up to its expectations; with people seeking refunds en masse from Amazon, PSN and even Steam. Word had it that people were able to get almost unconditional refunds but it doesn’t seem to be entirely the case.

We reported before that people were in fact, getting refunds for the game, with word coming from NeoGAF, Reddit and even Twitter, from people who apparently managed to get their money back.

Aside from starting an avalanche of people looking to get the game refunded, people have been passing around tips on how to circumvent the usual refund policies. These range from citing technical issues to speaking to live chat representatives as opposed to sending emails so their refunds would go through.

As a result, Steam has added a disclaimer to No Man’s Sky‘s store page stating:

“The standard Steam refund policy applies to No Man’s Sky. There are no special exemptions available. Click here for more detail on the Steam refund policy.”

That said, if you had played less than 2 hours of the game and have owned it for less than two weeks, yes you’re still eligible for a refund. But if you were clocking a good 40-50 hours on it, doesn’t that technically imply that you do enjoy it? however the game doesn’t entirely live up to the hype, even launching with technical issues so to some players that’s enough excuse to want a refund despite the amount of time already spent playing.

Whatever the case, unless you legit didn’t enjoy the game and meet the requirements for that refund; don’t expect any miracles.
