Kuala Lumpur will soon play host to a big time Major All Stars Dota 2 Tournament, the biggest of its kind in South East Asia so far.

Teams from local and neighboring South East Asian nations will duke it out in the arena for prizes of US$100, 000 (RM350, 000+) collected via crowdfunding. The qualifying rounds will be held from January to February with the final round taking place in Kuala Lumpur in March 2015.

The whole reason for the tournament is to find two teams to join pre-existing teams who have already been invited to International LAN competitions, namely the Philippines based Rave which is managed in South Korea. The team finished first in Korean Dota 2 League Season 4. Another one is Invasion e-Sports, the big player in the Malaysian scene with teams fought in games like Heroes of Newerth, CS:GO, Starcraft 2, League of Legends and Dota 2.

The final round will see four teams fighting each other to represent themselves as the South East Asian Dota 2 challengers (only two spots available, sadly). The international LAN competition will host the top eight teams from around the world (North America, Europe, China and South East Asia).

This represents a massive step forward for the e-Sports scene in Malaysia. And by the way, the registration for the qualifying round is still open, go check it out at the link below to find out how. So far, 530 plus have registered for the chance to win US$100,000 and ultimate bragging rights as the best Dota 2 players.
