Malaysia is set to host the first ever Asean E-Sports Games 2016, with RM1,000,000 prize money up for grabs this March! Details inside.
Electronic Sports of Malaysia (ESM) has just announced that the inaugral Asean Games for E-Sports (AGES 2016) will be running in Malaysia from 18 – 20 March 2016.
Our nation will be the first host country to organize this event in the region; to feature participation from Malaysian gamers as well as members of the Asean Confederation of E-Sports (ACES).
ACES consists of the Singapore Cybersports Online Gaming Association (SCOGA),Thailand Esports Association (“TESA”), Philippines Esports Organisation (“PESO”), and Indonesian eSports Association (“IeSPA”) just to name a few.
The games in the competition will be none other than DOTA 2, FIFA 16 and CS: GO; with the pool prize money consisting of a cool RM 1,000,000, the largest amount ever offered at a eSports competition locally so far.
Happening alongside the competition would be an outdoor carnival with activities and pocket events for the general public. Entry to the competition however will be ticket based, with the ticketing prices to be released soon.
