Man of Action Entertainment will produce the series, backed by DHX Media and Dentsu Entertainment.
Capcom’s been on a TV roll this week with the announcement of new details for their Monster Hunter TV show – now another of their properties is being made into a series.
Mega Man has been a beloved titled for many years but despite a premise ripe for children’s animation and a critically acclaimed run in Archie comics, not much licensing has come to the franchise. All that changes, however, with the announcement of the show, aimed at kids 6 to 9.
Mega Man will feature classic characters like Rush and the blue bomber himself and will introduce new elements like his schoolgoing alter ego Aki Light and a character known only as Mega Mini.
The series will air in 2017.
