Sony and KONAMI announced the release of the limited edition Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain/メタルギアソリッドV: ザ・ファントム・ペイン themed Xperia Z smartphones and tablets in Japan.
It is in conjunction with the September release in Japan of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and 360. The themes will be available in a limited quantity, exclusively in Japan.
The full device list includes the Xperia J1 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and the Walkman NW-ZX2, Walkman NW-A16 media players. The J1 Compact and the Walkmans comes with MGS engraved designs, while the tablets featured with MGS cases or skins. Not only that, every gadget comes with pre-installed OSTs from the game and official Metal Gear Solid V themes and wallpapers.
Fans can buy them from the Sony’s online store but its for Japan only and one individual is allowed to purchase only one from the each devices listed. Here are the prices:
1. Walkman NW-ZX2 – 140 000 Yen + tax (RM4605)
2. Walkman NW-A16 – 28 000 Yen + tax (RM921)
3. Xperia J1 Compact – 59 800 Yen + tax (RM1967)
4. Xperia Z4 Tablet – 84 400 Yen + tax (RM2776)
5. Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact – 59 600 Yen + tax (RM1960)
At the very least, we can console ourselves with Asus’s offering with ROG laptops here.
