Mitchiri Neko is getting their very own manga series adaptation this October, and there’s news of an anime as well!

The news came via the October issue of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, and the anime adaptation for our colourful cat friends has already been green lit. As for the manga, Frencel and G-angle will be behind the comics.

For those not familiar with the Michiri Neko, they’re colourful cats that multiply greatly when left alone (Mitchiri meaning sticking together or packed in Japanese, while Neko just means cat) and they’re able to speak and mimic human behaviour.

They originally came about as a four-panel manga on the Famitsu.com website circa 2012 but also spawned a smartphone game called Mitchiri Neko Mix in 2014. They also inspired a handful of short animations on the franchise’s official Youtube channel that year.
