Bandai Namco recently announced that Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force is getting its western release come 2016.

The game itself will be launching on the PSVita in Japan 23 December 2015, with an English version for the asian market to come soon after.

For those unfamiliar to the series, the game sports the same 2 vs. 2 gameplay in realtime as you pilot your gundams and the game allows you to put together your own original unit from six mobile suits. However Extreme VS-Force will have three MS units and warships with up to seven mobile suits in a battle, which is a first for the franchise. Multiplayer is achieved via the PSVita’s ad-hoc multiplayer mode.

The game’s new Force System allows players to give instructions to other mobile suits as well, and collect Force Points from capturing bases and defeating enemies. Said points are then used to replenish stats.

Gundam Barbatos (form 4) from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and Haine’s Destiny Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny will be available as limited DLCs with the game in Japan. The anime’s Blu-ray set will also have a code for Gundam Barbatos (form 1) included with the set when it drops on 24 December.

On top of this, Sony is releasing special collaboration models of the PSVita and PlayStation TV as well.
