After going strong for 14 seasons proving right and wrong our myths and urban legends, Mythbusters is coming to a close.
One of the Discovery channel’s longest running and most popular shows has run for a whopping 248 episodes before they announced that they are pulling the curtains on the myth busting duo Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman.
In an interview , Savage claims that he has known that the end was coming since earlier this year, but the team are planning on setting up their best experiments for this final season with what extra time they have. In total the show has seen over 3,000 experiments over the years.
Some of which, have been very explosive, like the time they stuffed a cement truck with 4.5 tons of an industrial explosive just to see if they could clear it of hardened cement.
Savage also said he isn’t heaving television behind, as the will be working on future shows, including joining Tested.com. Still, Hyneman and Savage will be executive producing a scripted show at CBS, with details yet to be announced. Maybe they’re working on that spy drama pilot we heard about a couple of months back?
The final season of Mythbusters will premiere 9 Jan 2016.
