The new Power Rangers flick now has a Pink Ranger, and she is none other Naomi Scott; who recently appeared in The Martian and survival film The 33.
The announcement came via an image on the official Power Rangers movie instagram, confirming that she has been set in for the role. We’ve already covered the characters that will be returning for the film, Billy, Kimberly, Trini, Zack and Jason, as they were in the original Power Rangers series.
Do note that the names are the same with the old series and it should not deviate from which Ranger’s colour will represent who: Jason as the Red Ranger, Kimberly as the Pink Ranger, Trini as the Yellow Ranger, Billy as the Blue Ranger, and Zack as the Black Ranger.
MMA Fighter Jason David Frank, who was on the original Power Rangers television series as the Green/White Ranger, is going to make an appearance as well.
The film itself is set for 13 January 2017, after it was delayed for its original July 2016 release
Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) is directing the film while Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the script. Both of them were also involved in writing the X-Men First Class and Thor Films. Brian Casentini from Saban BRands and Allison Shearmur of Liongate are in charge of production.
