Miracleman

Seeing as up until very recently Miracleman was completely unavailable to purchase, thanks to a long standing dispute over ownership rights, there’s a good chance most comic fans haven’t read it, which is a shame as Miracleman is one of the best examinations of the superhero concept from the legend of the form Alan Moore (Neil Gaiman also worked on a few issues).
Kimota!
Similar to DC’s Captain Marvel, (also known as Shazam) Miracleman is the super powered alter ego of Michael Moran, only Michael doesn’t know it and has forgotten the “magic” word that transforms him from one to the other: Kimota!
When he does finally remember, what follows is about as far as you can get from the Day-Glo adventures of standard superheroes, a serious examination of what a super powered beings would actually be like and what they would do, including a horrifying glimpse into the collateral damage that would be caused by two godlike beings going to war with each other.
The legal issues have been all cleared up now and Miracleman has now been collected into numerous collections although please note this is definitely not one for the kiddies!
Price: USD$10.99 (RM 47.13) for digital editions to RM112.50 for hardcover.
Where to get it: Kinokuniya, Comixology.com

For the comic fan with a very dark sense of humour, who a) has a garden and B) likes to scare people out of it, this “DC The Joker Ground Breaker” half stature by the inmates at ThinkGeek may be the perfect present!
Featuring the most recent version of Batman’s iconic villain, The Joker, wearing a mask made from the skin of his own face, this should spook the living daylights out of any pesky kids.
Alternatively you could stick him up on the wall, perhaps next to a 3D Effects Light?
