Netflix is working on getting a new series under their belts, and it will be an original series based on Konami’s Castlevania.
While we don’t know who is executive producer for the upcoming animated series, Adi Shankar (Dredd) has been confirmed to be co-running the series, with writer Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Iron Man) reportedly has written the first season.
The first season is expected to drop this year, though there isn’t any exact information when. As for the show itself, it apparently will be dark and satirical with the intention to “flip the vampire sub-genre on its head”. We don’t know if the new show will be following the plot of any of the games in the series, with over 20+ games already in existence (excluding the Pachinko ones).

Also, showrunner Adi Shankar is apparently working on a really dark R-rated Power Rangers series reboot. It will be a retelling of the first three seasons, with plans to launch it within the next 18 months.
