Fafner in the Azure: Dead Aggressor -EXODUS is set to scorch TV screens come January 2015, preluded with an upcoming movie that combines first two episodes, planned for a December release at Japanese cinemas.
The production team also announced three new additional cast members namely Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Free!) as Mitsugu Jinnai , Azumi Asakura (The Idolm@ster) as Saki Masaoka and Saori Seto as Mai Donma (Strike Witches).
Toshimasa Suzuki (Heroic Age, Rinne no Lagrange) and Habara Nobuyoshi (Break Blade, Bakuretsu Hunter) will be helming the 26-episode series with Masafumi Mima (Chobits, Full Metal Alchemist) doing the sound directing. Script will be penned by Tou Ubukata who previously worked on Ghost in the Shell: Arise and Heroic Age. Saito Tsuneyoshi (Idolm@ster: Xenoglossia, xxxHolic) is the music composer this time around.
XEBEC (Stellvia of the Universe) will resume animating duties as the studio also did the prequel of this series. And some of you might recognise the character and art style since the designer, Hisashi Hirai is known for the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series.
The upcoming series will be set in far future of the year 2150 CE. The official synopsis so far is this enigmatic line, “A Festum gains Life. It wanted to be a human. Yes, to be a man named Minashiro Soushi. That’s why I’m here.”
