If you were waiting for the consumer version of the Oculus Touch Controller, you’re going to be waiting a little while longer.
Earlier last week, the Oculus dev team announced that they needed more time to work on the Touch; which was originally planned to hit the market by the second quarter this year.
For those not in the know, the Oculus Touch is a set of controllers that make navigating your environment in VR a lot more intuitive.
“On Touch hardware, we’ve made significant advances in ergonomics, and we’re implementing many changes that make Touch even more comfortable, reliable, and natural,” the blog post explains. “We’re also implementing changes that improve hand pose recognition.”
The 3rd Gen Oculus Rift on the other hand is still set to arrive in the first quarter of this year if nothing changes along the way.
Oculus also stated that they will start taking pre-orders a few months before the Touch hits the shelves but there aren’t any new details on the price or when exactly will they make it available. In the mean time, all we can do is cross our fingers and wait.
