After the announcement of two iconic Autobots statues that are set to guard Penang from the forces of evil, the state government will reveal Asia’s first Transformers themed street art at the Esplanade, set to start on 19 July 2015.

Students from One Academy Penang will be painting the art on a row of containers that will complement the expo.

During a press conference, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said, “For the first time, we will have the largest Transformers outdoor exhibit in Malaysia here with their backs to the sea as if they just arrived to save Penang and it will be accompanied by the Transformers street art,”

The Transformers exhibit which feature a six meters tall Optimus Prime, a slightly shorter Bumblebee at five meters and a Chevrolet Camaro will be launched on 10 July and will be free for public viewing until September. The state government funded RM1.1 million for this popular culture exhibit with support of Penang Global Tourism and Penang Island City Council.
