Finally, Pokemon Go is getting that enormous update we’ve been waiting for that will push the game into the 2nd generation of Pokemon!
The new update will feature a total of 80 new Pokemon from Gen 2 (Gold/Silver/Crystal) and a variety of other fancy new stuff.
Aside from the new starters Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, certain Kanto Pokemon you’ve already caught can now evolve into their new, gen 2 forms. They’ve added new evolution items and berries as well; the Pinap and Nanab berries will help you collect double the candy on a catch and slow down Pokemon so they’re easier to catch.
You’ll also be getting more customization options for your trainers as well as Pokemon having more tricks up their sleeves to avoid getting caught.
The update may not have the full total of Gen 2 Pokemon coming our way, but it sure gives us motivation to start collecting again!
