Well guys, after a long wait, Pokemon Go has finally launched here in Malaysia. It’s been exactly a month since the game was first launched, and now trainers here in Malaysia will finally get to catch them all.
It’s been a long and often frustrating wait for the game to hit our shores and many (including us) had resorted in less than legit ways to playing the game. However these ways, of course came with risk, including accounts being banned.
Now however, we can catch as many Pokemon as we want. As of publishing time, we have already discovered that most of the Pokestops and Gyms that spawned in the initial roll out phases (that short sweet time we could still play it in Malaysia) were back.
Of course, there have been some changes in the game since launch. Third party tracker apps don’t work anymore and it seems that it’s way much harder to catch Pokemon now. Not to mention Niantic Labs had decided to remove legendaries for the sake of fairness as well.
Also quite a number of local companies have decided to ride the Pokemon Go craze, including Grab and Hotlink, who are running their PokeMobile today and tomorrow.
On a side note, if you’re based in Singapore, the game has also gone live there.
So go ahead, download the game now and go catch em all. Just be sure you keep yourself safe and for goodness sake, look where you’re going when you hunt.
