We were anticipating the new update to bring the entire Pokedex full of Gen 2 Pokemon on Pokemon Go, but it looks like we’re just getting a handful, on top of that Christmas Pikachu.
The new Pokemon being introduced are none other than the baby Pokemon, which will mostly come from eggs players can hatch.
Niantic hasn’t really revealed which Pokemon exactly are arriving with the update but there are only so many baby Pokemon that were released in Pokemon Gold and Silver.
What are baby Pokemon you ask? in the 2nd Gen of games Pokemon were assigned gender, and you could get certain species of Pokemon to procreate; bringing forth their baby forms.
The baby Pokemon in question are none other than Pichu (baby Pikachu), Igglybuff (baby Jigglypuff), Cleffa (baby Clefairy), Smoochum (baby Jynx), Elekid (baby Electabuzz) Magby (baby Magmar) Tyrogue (the precursor to Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop) and Togepi (baby…uh..Togechic?) though we’re not sure if it will be able to evolve yet.
